Description

This Limited-Edition barstool features an original actual real life photo – not AI created – of a fully restored , privately owned and operational USAF C-121-A  Constellation Bataan built by Lockheed Aircraft Company. The Constellation that came to be known as Bataan started life as a C-121A, a militarized version of the L-749 Constellation, being delivered to the USAF in January 1949 for use within the newly established Military Air Transport Service (MATS).  During the Korean War, where in September of 1950, it became the latest personal transport for General Douglas MacArthur, who christened it Bataan, after the Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines from which he had mounted his last defense of the archipelago against the Japanese invasion in 1942 until ordered by President Roosevelt to move to Australia. The Lockheed C-121 Constellation is a military transport version of the Lockheed Constellation. A total of 332 aircraft were constructed for both the US AIR FORCE and US NAVY for various purposes. Numerous airborne early warning radar versions were also constructed. The C-121 later saw service with smaller civilian airline operators until 1993.

The Air Legends Foundation proudly preserves the C-121A Constellation “Bataan”, a historic aircraft once used by General Douglas MacArthur during his service. Originally designed by Lockheed, this aircraft played a vital role in both military transport and aviation history. Restored to its full glory, the Constellation “Bataan” serves as a flying tribute to its storied past, continuing to inspire at Airshows and Exhibitions (2026), while connecting generations to a piece of WWII and post-war military heritage.
