It was recently (May 2026) rolled out by BNSF as one of three commemorative locomotives painted in a special red, white, and blue livery to honor the U.S. Semiquincentennial (America’s 250th birthday). BNSF Locomotive No. 1776, affectionately known as “The Liberty Bell,” is currently operating across the BNSF rail network. BNSF Railway operates approximately 32,500 route miles of track across 28 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces.
